A 10-year-old girl was killed instantly after being knocked over by a car near the R550 Road in Sky City.

According to reports, the child was possibly knocked over by a white Toyota Tazz. It is still unclear what exactly led to the accident.

“I saw the child lying on the road as I was heading to the mall and saw a white Toyota Tazz parked near where the child was. There were no ambulances or police cars. The child’s lifeless body was just lying on the road.

“It was just after 08:00, and it looked like the accident had happened minutes before I passed,” said a witness who drove past the scene.

The Alberton Record requested comment from authorities surrounding the circumstances that led to the fatal accident and will provide an update once received.
