Alberton Lions Club steps up for little warriors

The Alberton Lion Club hosts 'The Big Walk for Little Warriors' to raise funds and awareness for children living with cancer.

On February 15, the Alberton Lions Club organised a walk at Rietvlei Zoo Farm to raise funds for kids living with cancer.

The heartwarming community event saw a large turnout of people who showed their support for the kids.

The Big Walk for Little Warriors was held as an inspiring initiative aimed at raising funds and awareness for children suffering from various forms of cancer.

The event was a testament to the Lions Club’s dedication to serving the community and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Alberton Lions Club president Mukesh Dayah spoke about the reason Alberton Lions host such events.

“We just want to help those in need in our community, this is our purpose. Thanks to everyone involved,” said Mukesh.

All proceeds from the walk will be donated to Kids Kicking Cancer at the Stepping Stone Hospice children’s unit.

Head of marketing at Stepping Stone Hospice, Simphiwe Malunga, expressed his gratitude to the Alberton Lions Club.

“On behalf of the Hospice, I would like to say thank you to Alberton Lions, this contribution will make a difference and help our kids,” said Malunga.

“This Hospice provides vital support and care to children with cancer, and the Lion Club’s contribution will help make a tangible difference in their lives.”
