WATCH: Eden Park eye care project helps 60 elderly residents receive glasses

Sixty Eden Park seniors now see the world more clearly thanks to a grassroots effort led by local organisations.

The recent community eye care initiative by Predestined2Help NPO has reached a joyful milestone, with 60 elderly residents successfully receiving their glasses.

The project, made possible through generous sponsorship from The Life Improvement Charitable Trust, continues to make a meaningful impact in the Eden Park community.

One of the organisers, Mercia Scheepers of Predestined2Help, confirmed that eight individuals who were unable to attend the initial session will collect their glasses on July 22, while 12 more are scheduled for fittings on the same day.

Looking ahead, Predestined2Help will be assisting 100 more elderly individuals currently on the waiting list.

This next phase is set to commence in August, continuing the organisation’s mission of restoring dignity and improving quality of life through optical care.

“We give thanks to God for allowing us to serve our community. We remain committed to uplifting the elderly in Eden Park with compassion, dedication and love,” said Scheepers.
