Tree-planting initiative brings new life to Daleside Park

Meze Foods, Kliprivier SAPS, community safety groups and the municipality teamed up to plant trees at Dalesdie Park.

Daleside Park received a welcome environmental boost when Meze Foods donated a series of trees as part of a community greening initiative on November 21.

The planting was carried out by the Midvaal Local Municipality’s council team, joined by Meze Foods management, Kliprivier SAPS members, Crime Prevention Wardens, and Siyabangena Patrollers.

Their collaboration turned the park into a hub of community spirit and environmental action.

According to Sergeant Ndhambi of Kliprivier SAPS, the initiative focused on long-term sustainability and environmental responsibility.

“The newly planted trees are expected to support biodiversity, strengthen carbon absorption, and contribute to creating cleaner, greener public spaces for residents,” she said.

The project also aimed to build a lasting legacy.

Each tree planted symbolises a commitment to nurturing life, restoring ecological balance, and ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier and more resilient environment.

The event emphasised community engagement, with participants highlighting that environmental care is a shared responsibility that benefits all who use the park.
