Leaders in action: Alberton Primary School pupils shined at LRC leadership camp

There was laughter, learning and leadership when a primary school’s learner representative council spent a weekend developing the skills to become tomorrow’s leaders.

The Alberton Primary School Learner Representative Council’s (LRC) tenure started in 2026 on a high note, returning from a leadership camp weekend filled with growth and teamwork.

After arriving at the Maranè Man on the Vaal venue, the focus shifted to developing leadership capacity, collaboration and confidence among the school’s young leaders.

Day one saw learners do leadership-focused activities that encouraged unity, communication and teamwork.

By day two, the camp was in full swing, with learners enjoying outdoor team-building activities that strengthened trust, problem-solving skills and co-operation, while reinforcing the importance of collaboration.

After the camp had concluded, one thing was clear: The learners returned with great memories and the tools and inspiration to lead with purpose.
