Male driver dies after crashing into tree on Hennie Alberts Street in Meyersdal

Brackendowns SAPS is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A male driver tragically succumbed to his injuries following a motor vehicle accident on Hennie Alberts Street in Meyersdal in the early hours of Friday, April 17.

According to EMPD media liaison officer Sisanda Manitshana, the incident occurred at approximately 04:00 when the driver, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, reportedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but the man was declared deceased upon their arrival.

The body of the deceased was later transported to the Germiston Mortuary.

EMPD media liaison officer Sisanda Manitshana confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened at the Brackendowns Police Station for further investigation.
