Alberton Rugby Club to form a girls team
Calling all girls interested in rugby to come and try it out and see hou fitness, friends and fun come together.
The Alberton Rugby Club, home of the Elande, is on the lookout for more players to strengthen its growing girls’ team, with recruitment now open to girls from age 13.
Under the club motto, ‘Inspired Excellence’, Alberton Rugby Club is inviting young women in the community to get involved in the sport in a fun, supportive environment.
No previous rugby experience or expensive kit is required.
Interested players can come down to the club for training on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 18:30 to 20:00 at the Alberton Rugby Club grounds.

Making it easy for new players to try the sport without commitment, all you need is to bring some tekkies, your enthusiasm and come and play.
The club’s recruitment drive promises to highlight rugby as a way for teen girls to stay active, build confidence, and be part of a team.
The move forms part of a wider push to grow women’s and girls’ rugby at community club level across Gauteng.
