Alex model wears a crown of purpose as she’s named Miss Philanthropy at the Miss Gauteng Exclusive Pageant

The Miss Gauteng Exclusive Philanthropy crown found its rightful place, on the head of Rubina Burnham, a head already bowed in service.

Years of dedicated community service and upliftment have culminated in a beautiful moment of recognition for Alexandra’s own Rubina Burnham, the recently crowned Miss Gauteng Exclusive Philanthropy 2025.

Burnham’s title, received at the star-studded Miss Gauteng Exclusive Pageant, held at the Cirk Theatre in Randburg on October 4, does not just honour her beauty, but also her impact in the Alexandra community.

Since her debut in the modelling scene in 2023, she has never been one to walk the red carpet in pursuit of glamour. Instead, she walks with conviction and purpose. The same conviction and purpose that carried her across the glamorous stage at the theatre.

Reflecting on the title, Burnham noted that it will expand her reach as a model. “I believe this platform has given me the power to reach out to larger communities, and make positive changes.”

Burnham has been steadily building her platform through pageantry rooted in service. She first emerged as a finalist in the Mr and Miss Sipho Sethu Arts Project (SSAP) in 2023, then earned the Brand Ambassador title at the Mr and Miss Royal Elegance Pageant, each step deepening her commitment to advocacy.

Now, as Miss Philanthropy, Burnham is doubling down on her mission of championing dignity in education, by helping children access essentials that keep them confident and in school and raising awareness around youth mental health, a cause she believes is vital to long-term community wellbeing.

She believes that her new title is a validation of the work she has been doing. “This title matters because it shows that the impact I make, big or small, counts.”

The Miss Gauteng Exclusive organisation echoed that sentiment, stating that titles, like Miss Philanthropy, are as valued as the main crown. “Miss Gauteng Exclusive celebrates not only beauty and leadership, but also hard work, diligence, and meaningful community impact,” the pageant shared on social media.
