Shaw- Butler Studio took a top placing at the SA Highland Dancing Championships held in Gauteng recently.

The dancers who competed at the event were Kirsten Parker, Ava Grobler, Kaylan Bartlett, Claire Thompson, Layla Johnson, Kianna Pinto-Duate, Kayleigh Wright, Boipelo Maphoto, Kirstyn Walker, Sheldon Van Niekerk, Abigail McNamara and Mirren Ross
Kirstyn Walker came in second to a New Zealand dancer in the u-16 SA Highland Dancing Championships event.
She was awarded the trophy for the top placing South African dancer in the u-16 Championship, and also finished second in the SA Scottish National Premiership for the u-16s.
Kianna Pinto-Duate was the runner-up in the premier section for highland dancing and placed fourth in the SA Scottish National Premiership for the u-16s.
Kirsten Parker was the winner in the beginners’ section for Highland Dance while Ava Grobler was the winner of the beginners’ section for the Scottish National Dance.
Kaylan Bartlett was chosen the winner for the Novice section of Highland Dance, and Claire Thompson was the runner-up in the novice section Scottish National Dance.
Layla Johnson was the winner for the intermediate sections of Highland and Scottish National Dance.
Other results for the SA Scottish National Premiership for the u-16s included sixth place for Kayleigh Wright and fifth place for Boipelo Maphoto.
Sheldon Van Niekerk was placed sixth in the SA Scottish National Premiership for the over-16s.
