SAPS still hunts for murder suspect after escaping from court
Anyone who knows Sbusiso Mnisi’s whereabouts is urged to contact their nearest police station or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Murder suspect Sbusiso Mnisi, who walked out of the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on October 16, is still at large.
According to a police report, Mnisi was at the court for a scheduled appearance in connection with a murder case opened at the Etwatwa SAPS in 2021 when he escaped.
Caxton publication, Benoni City Times was informed of allegations that there were issues concerning negligence in security protocols at the court on the day of the escape.

According to a well-placed source, there was only one officer present in the courtroom at the time Mnisi was scheduled to appear but this officer left the courtroom before the magistrate postponed the case.
Mnisi allegedly simply walked out of the courtroom.
A court orderly reportedly stopped him in the corridor and asked where he was going.
He allegedly claimed his case was dismissed.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed a departmental investigation was underway to establish the full circumstances of the matter and that nobody has been suspended.
“Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation,” said Nevhuhulwi, adding the police are following up on all leads to track Mnisi down.
The City Times reached out to the Department of Justice for comment, but they referred the newspaper to the SAPS.
