Pedestrian killed on N12 near Putfontein

All lanes were temporarily closed to allow emergency services to reach the scene.

Traffic on the N12 east, near the Putfontein off-ramp, was brought to a standstill this morning (August 7) following a motor vehicle collision.

All lanes were temporarily closed to allow emergency vehicles access to the scene.

According to EMPD media liaison officer Millicent Kekana, Gauteng Provincial Traffic Police were the first responders.

“Initial investigations indicate that the incident involved a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian died on the scene,” she said.

“EMPD officers assisted in regulating traffic in an effort to allow motorists to safely pass.”
