Orphans treated to a sunny Christmas party

One hundred orphans were treated to a day of sweets, fun and gifts, at the Care and Share Christmas party.

The annual event was held at the Putfontein Police Station this year.

The kiddies, who are orphans from informal settlements in Putfontein, enjoyed hours of playtime with each other and volunteers from Benoni High School.

The children could also enjoy slush puppies, a dog show, a reptile show and have their faces painted, before receiving presents from Santa Claus, who arrived in a Jeep.

Audrey Todd, who has arranged the event in Benoni for eight years, was grateful for the event’s success.

“Thank you to each and every one of the people who came forward to make this party a great success,” she said.
