The man had just appeared for possession of an unlicensed firearm, when he was arrested for attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm, on October 3.
His victim, also a Nigerian national, who he shot and injured in September, in the CBD, spotted him in Springs and notified the Benoni police.
“Quick reaction by Benoni police and K9 members led to the arrest of the man and three other suspects who were appearing with him for the same case,” said Benoni police spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele.
The man was pointed out by the victim and the white Polo that was allegedly used in the shooting was also seized.
All four suspects are due to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court soon.
There have been two incidents in the past few months, in which Nigerians shot and killed and injured other Nigerians, in what was suspected to be gang rivalry.
The police could not confirm if this latest incident could be linked to the other two.
