Benoni Aurora knows how to make it float
Saturday, November 2, was filled with team-work, creativity and plenty of laughter, when the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora and the Benoni Sailing Club hosted an "Anything that Floats” raft-building fun day, at Homestead Lake.
Seven teams each constructed a raft from various materials and then took on a mini obstacle course, with the team finishing first winning.
There was also a spitbraai, jumping castle for the kids and live entertainment.
All proceeds from the day go to Hospice East Rand.
The winning team was the Jolly Rogers, from the Rotary Aurora Roteract club and consisted of Robin Begemann and Angelique Kotze .
“We raise funds while we are having fun — that’s what we are all about,” said president of the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora, Sylvia Knoop.
