Celebrating the Silver Screen
The Sing for Joy Choral Concert, with the title "Celebrating the Silver Screen", will take place on Saturday, May 31.
There will be a selection of both sacred and secular music from the motion pictures.
There will be one performance at 2.30pm and another at 6.30pm, in St Dunstan’s Cathedral, on Woburn Avenue.
The choir consists of 80 members, and a brass band and a full pipe band will also perform (the Benoni High School Pipe Band will appear at the evening performance).
This is the 12th Sing for Joy concert and it is produced and conducted by musicians and choir masters Malcolm and Janet Chalmers.
There will be a Food Faire between the two concerts, and the St Dunstan’s College Marimba band will give a performance during this time.
