An ultimate burger experience
You don't have to travel out of Benoni to find Joburg's Best Burger.
Ultimate Burgers, situated at the corner of Pretoria Road and Miles Sharp Street, was voted Joburg’s Best Burger in early August.
The outlet received this award in a 94.7 Highveld Stereo search for the best burger.
Ultimate Burgers co-owner, Wayne Pepler, said he was surprised when the establishment made it into the top eight of the search.
Pepler was thrilled with the recognition after having won 19 per cent of votes, especially as they have only been operating since April 8.
So, with all the hype, the City Times visited the establishment to see how ultimate the burgers really taste.
What a surprise.
The shop is squeaky-clean and has very friendly staff.
Then, we were overwhelmed by the build-your-own-burger concept and the range of burger toppings.
Burger lovers will be in heaven to know they have the following options before they struggle to swallow their massive self-selected burgers: there are over 25 toppings to choose from, more than 18 sauces, four buns (including a gluten-free option), five types of fries and five different types of patties (including a vegetarian option).You are definitely spoilt for choice, and if you are concerned that your desire to rack it up will cost you extra, it won’t.
You can put as many toppings on your burger as you like, all at the same cost.
The burgers are priced exceptionally well and, considering that you can build your tower with what you like, it’s an ultimate bargain.
Ultimate Burgers delivers free of charge within a 5km radius and is open from 9am till 8pm from Mondays to Sundays. KvdL
