Belinda Buckley’s daughter, Shannon Buckley (13), was also injured in the ordeal, when parts of a concrete wall fell on her outside the property.
Three suspected robbers, two men and one woman, are responsible for the injuries, which were inflicted on a property on Cloverdene Road.
Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz said the incident happened on November 6, when three people gained entry into the property under the pretence of wanting to purchase the home.
“The victim noticed that they were stealing jewellery and small items in the house,” said Maritz.
“She then went outside and phoned the police and also locked the gate.”
Maritz said the suspects became very aggressive when they were locked in and rammed Belinda, pushing her into the Wendy house with their vehicle before crashing through the gate to exit the property.
Shannon’s husband, Clive Buckley, said he dragged one of the perpetrators out of the vehicle and managed to detain him with the help of a passerby.
Clive said the other suspects made off with an iPhone, iPad, two laptops, jewellery, cameras, phones and a watch.
The suspect who was arrested on scene was handed over to the police.
Maritz said the man has served a sentence for housebreaking and has a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a housebreaking case in Nigel.
A case of attempted murder was opened and a theft charge will be added.
The vehicle that was used in the ordeal was found abandoned on the N12 highway, by SAPS and CPF members.
Crystal Park detectives are following up on information and more arrests are expected soon.
Shannon has been discharged from hospital and her mother is in a stable condition in the Tambo Memorial Hospital.
