Police search for murder suspects

Police are searching for a group of suspects responsible for stabbing a man to death in Etwatwa on December 12.

Mncedisi Ngoma (27), who is the son of Benoni Community Policing Forum (CPF) sector eight chairperson Kenneth Dhlamini, died several hours after the incident.

Dhlamini said his son was walking from one tavern to another, with two friends, when the trio was attacked.

A group of men attacked one of Ngoma’s friends.

“When my son interfered, they left his friend alone and went for my son,” said Dhlamini.

The father said witnesses told him about 10 men attacked his child.

The victim was rushed to the Far East Rand Hospital, where he later died.

Dhlamini was taken aback when he saw the extent of his child’s wounds.

“I was shocked when I was in the mortuary, when I saw the terrible wounds on his face,” he said.

Ngoma funeral will be held on December 19, at the Phumlani Cemetery, at 11am.

A case of murder has been opened.
