Man crushed to death

Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Chris Botha said the incident happened in Illovo Beach, at around 9am.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a water tank that was on the roof of an outside toilet filled with the heavy rain, as the weight increased it caused the structure to collapse,” said Botha.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a man, believed to be a holidaymaker from Benoni, had been crushed under the water tank.”

The man died on scene.
