Tawfak Gepril appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court, in connection with the death of a man whose burnt body was discovered in Putfontein.

Gepril first appeared in court on October 7, two days after his arrest, and the case was postponed to October 12.

According to Tryna Maritz, Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson, the discovery of the burnt body was made on September 23, in an open veld, and a case of murder was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.

A family member of the deceased, who did not want to be named, said his cousin, a Springs resident, was a helpful person and always went out of his way to help those in need.
