Const Justice Ramaube, the Putfontein SAPS’ spokesperson, said the man said his house was next to a big tree that was once in the area.

“However, due to the developments in the area, the tree has been cut down,” said Ramaube.

“Some of the people do recall a certain relative of his who once lived in the area, but the man has died.”

Ramaube said Thwala said he is from Slovo Park, but it is not clear if he was referring to the one in Springs or Johannesburg.

Anyone who may have information about the man or his family is urged to contact the station on 011 845 6315 or 0800 10111.
