Fanyana Audrey Mhlanga (37) was sentenced to life imprisonment on two counts of rape at the Benoni Regional Court on September 28.
The incident occurred on September 8, 2017, in Putfontein.
Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said it was alleged that the mother of the victim was sitting with her boyfriend in the lounge and she then went to the kitchen.

“As she was in the kitchen, Mhlanga went to her daughter’s bedroom and raped her,” said Sekele.
Mhlanga is serving his sentence at Modderbee Correctional Services.
A case of rape was opened at the Putfontein Police Station.
