Two arrested at chop shop

The two men, aged 27 and 37, were arrested and detained at the Etwatwa Police Station pending their court appearances.

Two men were arrested for being in possession of hijacked vehicles at a chop shop in Sekgala Street, Emaphupheni, Etwatwa, on January 28 at around 1pm.

Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said police received information about people stripping a Toyota Quantum.

“Upon arrival at the address, police found two men stripping the brand-new vehicle. They also found a Toyota Etios and several car parts,” said Maqabe.

“It was later established that two of the vehicles were hijacked in Mamelodi East.”
