Lake Lions Club’s held their first meet-and-greet for the year

About 35 guests attended and were also treated to the first-ever virtual wine tasting via Zoom with the world-acclaimed winemaker, Ken Forrester.

The Benoni Lakes Lions Club hosted their first meet-and-greet on March 19 at CherryLane Gourmet Café in Northmead.

The event was hosted to share the club’s mission and the service projects they undertake in the community.

About 35 guests attended and were also treated to the first-ever virtual wine tasting via Zoom with the world-acclaimed winemaker, Ken Forrester.

The club president, Beaulieu Maré, thanked everyone who attended.

“Helen Keller, who continues to be an inspiration for the Lions, said together we can do so much more.

“Now, more than ever before, our communities need us to step up to the plate to help where we can. We look forward to increasing our footprint in the community by working with the friendships and bonds we have formed tonight,” said Maré.

Ward 27 Clr Lornette Joseph, who was a guest, said it is always wonderful to meet residents of her ward and the surrounding wards.

“It is particularly wonderful to meet organisations that do so much to help so many. It was a fantastic evening, very relaxed and I welcome working closely with the Lions,” she said.
