Visitation at all correctional centres now permitted
Regulations will still be adhered to during the visitations.

Families of incarcerated loved ones will once again be allowed to visit them following the Department of Correctional Services announcement to resume face-to-face visits at allits prisons.
This comes after the visitation was halted across all its correctional centres due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
The department said in a statement that following the termination of the National State of Disaster by President Cyril Ramaphosa, DCS reviewed its Covid-19 risk-adjusted strategy and it will permit visits for inmates.
“All relevant Covid-19 mandatory protocols and regulations will still be adhered to during the visitations. DCS remains committed to prioritise the health of both officials and inmates,” the department said.
