Old Bens back to winning ways
Brad Thomas grabbed a brace that secured a victory of the home team.
Old Bens went back to winning ways in the Easterns Super League on June 4 as they beat Impala FC 2-1 at Currin Park.
In the first half, the game was concentrated in the middle of the park. Bens keeper Matthew Pudule was a spectator as his team controlled the game and created a lot of chances
A corner saw Travis McMean missing an opportunity to take the lead after his header went on top of the bar.

Old Bens’ dominance saw the team open the scoring after Brad Thomas lobbed the keeper with the ball from Fabio de Freitas.
Impala tried to respond quickly by making deep runs into the box, but their player was fouled.

The referee gestured play on and Impala’s technical team was left swarmed.

The referee then dished out yellow cards to the Impala’s technical team for heckling.
Fabio de Freitas made runs on the right wing to lure the opposition defenders so that his teammates could make runs in the box.
Plenty of chances were created in the second half, resulting in the away team getting an equalizer through a set-piece that Bens failed to clear.

With ten minutes left to play, Thomas received a ball from 30 yards out to beat the last defender and slotted the winner.
Old Bens will play their Super League Cup quarter-final away against Sporting FC on Saturday, June 18.
Old Bens reserve team also won their match, beating Impala 4-0.
