Riders ready to decent on the city for the 40th annual event

Preparations for the 40th annual Gauteng Toy Run have kicked into high gear as organisers look to welcome more than 20 000 riders to the Benoni Northerns Sport Club, this Sunday (November 27).

Whether you are participating in one of the four mass rides or merely joining in on the day’s event, be sure to have your teddies ready to donate to run, thus gaining access to the wide range of activities and entertainment on offer.

According to Pete Beart, organiser and chairman of the trust, 140 vendors will form part of the Toy Run market making this the ideal place to kick-off your Christmas shopping.

MC Paul Rotherham, as well as live entertainment from Tryst and Backbone, will ensure that those in attendance are entertained and treated to exciting spot prizes.

Riders are expected to arrive at the venue from 09:20 from Great North Road.

Sponsorship in terms of cash donations are still welcome to assist the organisers in paying for the day’s operational costs as the running fund had been depleted due to restrictions imposed due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
