Ballerinas continue winning streak at regional dance festival
They've won the title for three years in a row.
The Dance Core Studio’s young dancers, from Cinderella, clinched their third consecutive overall U7 title during the East Rand Dance Festival at Edenvale Community Centre last month.
The girls also achieved a distinction for their performance of Cruella’s Change of Heart, as well as the overall best amateur ballet U7 group, ending the competition undefeated for a third year on the trot.
“The ballet performance featuring a talented group of seven-year-old dancers brought a heart-warming rendition of Cruella’s Change of Heart to the stage,” said coach Bronwen Baker.
Baker explained the performance was a charming showcase of creativity, grace and youthful energy.
“The dancers captivated both the judges and the audience’s attention, which was an overall testament to the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of these young ballerinas. It was a standout group of dancers to keep a watchful eye on.”
The coach said winning the title for the third year in a row was a proud moment for her studio.
“The first time they achieved this was when they were only five years old and performed at the Fun Fair and the second time was for their performance of Frozen when they were six years old.
“Dance Core and their parents are so proud of all they have achieved and cannot wait for their next stage performance, along with many of the Dance Core performers who performed at the festival with amazing results and overall winners.”
