Malik returns with soothing sounds
Malik’s debut album, I Am Free, was released in 2006 under the Ghetto Ruff record label, which he parted ways with in 2012. He is now signed under Likstar Ent, record label.
Well-known Daveyton musician Malik (Sabelo Zwane) is back by popular demand with a 17-track album, following his last single release in 2022.
Sabelo (42), who released his album Malik on November 22, has described the album as a combination of Afro-soul, Afrobeat and a touch of RnB rhythms.
Malik said his hiatus gave him the time to work on the album, which features collaborations with Trevor Mako, Dlala Regal, Gedleza, Ringo Madlingozi, and Vusi Nova.
“I was blessed to work with talented musicians on this album. I look forward to more collaborations with artists like Thando Zide, Lira, Thandiswa, and Manana,” said Malik.
“I came back to the music industry because I still have a lot to offer. I felt a vacuum inside me, as though something I love so much was being neglected.
“My music heals; it makes people feel they are not alone. Listeners can relate to the issues I write about. It was imperative that I come back. I could no longer deprive myself or others of my music,” he added.
