Arnold and Pohl victorious at State Mines
They scored 48 points to win.

Toula Arnold and Lesley Pohl won this month’s leg of the Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) monthly tournament at the State Mines Golf Club in Brakpan, on May 5.
After an incredible round of golf, Arnold and Pohl scored 48 points for their victory, finishing a point ahead of Louise Hastings and Sam Cawood, who registered 47 points for the runner-up spot.

Martie Becker and the ESWG chairperson, Charmaine Stone, settled for the last podium position with 46 points.

Stone congratulated the women for a great round.
The ladies are preparing for the 30th national senior women’s golf championships at the Irene Country Club in Centurion from May 25 to 28. A team of 18 players will represent Ekurhuleni.

They are Sue Baugh (captain), Barbara Collett, Bev Kroutz, Colleen Pike, Hilde Meyer, Julia Huttington, Lenore Simpson, Lezette Vermaak, Lorraine Cross, Lynda Smit, Madie Baressi, Magda van Zyl, Martie Becker, Noreen Hughes, Salie Morgan, Sonja Louw, Tania du Preez and Veronica Tredoux. Reserves: Carol Allers, Leslie Nienaber and Peachy Swarts.
Afterwards, the regional monthly competition continues with another round at Benoni Country Club, on June 2.
