Man fatally shot inside taxi in Wattville

A 38-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting inside a taxi on July 20 at around 14:50 along Mabuya Street in Wattville.
According to Actonville SAPS spokesperson Constable Lwazi Dladla, police arrived at the scene to find the man lying on his back inside the taxi, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services declared him dead on the scene.
Dladla said the gunman pretended to board the taxi at Mabuya Street. Once inside, he opened fire, fatally wounding the victim. The suspect then fled the scene in a getaway vehicle that was waiting nearby.
Police believe the taxi had been followed by the suspects.
A case of murder has been opened, and police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
