Lakefield Couture hairstylist Hawa Bibi Essa clinched a bronze medal at the International Hair championships in Sochi, Russia from November 20 to 23. Bibi Essa, who specialises in international standard of hairstyling, was part of a team selected to represent the country in the competition by the Duchess of Mane, Sandy Francis. Bibi Essa shared pride in standing for the country in the competition that featured around 1 500 participants. She was also part of the team that brought the trophy home after South Africa came first in the 2023 competition, also held in Russia.
