Crystal Park Unity Club marks 17 years of brotherhood, community upliftment
The celebration reinforced the club’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and unity.
Members of the Crystal Park Unity Club recently marked a milestone when they celebrated the club’s 17th anniversary and end-of-year party at the Iceberg Venue in Putfontein.
The afternoon was filled with music, dance and camaraderie as more than 40 members of the men-only social club gathered with their partners, friends and children.
Dressed in blue T-shirts and matching caps, they danced the day away, while families enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

Children were also catered for, with various kiddies’ activities on offer, while others took advantage of the swimming pool, allowing parents time to socialise and reflect on the club’s journey.
Founded in 2008 by a group of men from Crystal Park, the Unity Club is made up of professionals from various sectors, including education, business and local government. Over the years, it has focused on fostering unity and mutual support among its members.
According to club representative Ngwenya, the organisation was established to empower members and address social challenges within the community.
“When we started the club, our aim was to empower each other and unite against the social ills in the area. We don’t only support each other verbally, but we also assist each other financially in the event of bereavements,” he said.
