Four arrested in connection with robbing of pedestrians in Farrarmere

It is alleged that they are currently out on bail for similar crimes.

Armed robbery
Four men were arrested on December 18, following an armed robbery in Farrarmere.

According to Anton Koen of NoJack Vehicle Tracking, the four were arrested outside Emperors Palace when an operation team of local security companies, including Legendary Guardians, Secpros and Snipr LPR traced them near the entertainment complex.

It is alleged the group robbed three men walking in the suburb on December 15, at 09:40.

“After the victims reported the incident, a black Audi 2 was identified as being used by the suspects,” said Koen.

“The Snipr LPR system flagged down the suspected vehicle again roaming the streets on the morning of their arrest. A tactical operation was launched to nab the suspects.

“The suspects were arrested and handed over to the Benoni Police Station for further investigation. It is alleged that they are currently out on bail for similar crimes.”

Possession of drugs
Two men aged 20 and 24 were arrested in Mayfield on December 15 on charges of being in possession of drugs with the intent to sell.

While conducting routine crime prevention operations in the area, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit received information regarding a man selling drugs.

“Officers swooped onto the suspect’s home where they conducted a thorough search,” said City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini.”

One of the suspects arrested in Mayfield, on charges of being in possession of drugs.

“Several zip-lock packets of meth were found.

Nearby in the Zenzela informal settlement, the 24-year-old suspect was found in possession of heroin.
