Armed robbers hit local mall

Four armed suspects robbed Game, Lakeside Mall of cellphones as well as an undisclosed amount of money, on December 2.

According to Captain Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the Benoni Police Station, the suspects entered the store just before noon with two taking phones which were on display while the others demanded money from the cashiers.

“No shots were fired and no injuries were reported,” she said.

“Investigations into the matter are continuing.”
