Daveyton junior tourney a success

The tournament is sanctioned by Tennis South Africa.

The eighth edition of the Daveyton Junior Tennis Tournament concluded successfully on August 13 when the winners were crowned following their hard work on all three days of the competition.

The tournament began on August 11 at the Gauteng East Tennis Association (GETA) complex in Lakefield, with different age division players taking to the courts.

It concluded two days later with several Gauteng East players, including Cuan Western, Mpho Bowers and Jessica Sam-du Preez, earning valuable ranking points.

According to the founder and organiser, Dundee Radebe, the tournament is sanctioned by Tennis South Africa and attracts players from across South Africa and neighbouring countries looking to boost their national and continental rankings.

“This is an international tournament that attracts players from far and wide. It’s been going on for eight years now. These players are all looking to earn points to boost the district, provincial and national and continental rankings,” he said.
