Last week, I read a snippet from Chantal about her son who had the “Sarmie for a buddy” idea at Rynfield Primary.
What a fantastic way not only to assist families struggling financially, but also to teach our kids to be caring, responsible, compassionate people.
The Benoni City Times should approach all schools and propose this “pay it forward” idea, as there is absolutely nothing more heart-warming than knowing that you can help as a neighbour, schoolmate or friend.
If one little boy can minimise the scary statistics of families going to sleep hungry, then imagine what many families can do for others.
This country needs a lot more people to stand together, to care, perhaps then it will be in a better state.
