Just do it

Now I am certainly not one for slogans and sales strategies.

I feel led on and somewhat deceived by products that, well, are not necessarily as wondrous as they are promoted to be.

However, I have to admit that the slogan for sporting brand Nike; “Just do it” is one of the most brilliant concepts I have ever heard.

I cannot even recall the amount of times that this phrase had crossed my mind when having to make decisions and somehow I automatically pinpoint it to the brand.

Other than this slogan being such an effective marketing strategy for being used so often in our daily lives, I just want to stress the mighty mechanism of its meaning and encourage you to implement it more within your lifestyle.

How many times do we face a situation in which we have an idea, desire or need which we rather ignore for the sake of playing it safe?

How often are these choices followed by feelings of regret from not knowing whether it could have been great?

I have heard enough success stories to know that getting something you want means taking it, and the right time to do it is now, because time waits for none of us.

I am in no way encouraging you to be overly impulsive.

Do not drop out of school because it is not what you want.

Sometimes we have to show some patience and our “just do it” starts with the strategising of our next move, but do not bury it away.

Be smart, think long term and do your research on how you will achieve your goal and choose the best possible method of getting there.

Do not wait any longer to do that.

Your biggest action should be committing your mind to it.

Seriously, the girl who eats right and works out regularly loves cookies just as much as you do — do not make excuses.

Do not waste your time.

“Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is onconsolable.” — Sydney J. Harris.

So if you are still wondering, just do it.TB
