Fast and furious indoor frisbee action
The Old Bens Indoor Centre, in conjunction with the Flying Disk League, introduced the fast and frenetic sport of Indoor Frisbee, with a demonstration, at the centre on Saturday, August 17.
A number of teams, made up of five players and reserves, took part in the adrenalin-packed action.
The sport is a compact and fun version of Ultimate Frisbee, a very popular sport in countries like the United States of America, and is basically a mixture of American football and netball.
It can be played by both men and women and is a minimal contact sport.
It is usually played outdoors, but the introduction of the sport indoors is something new and exciting in Benoni.
The centre will continue to host demonstrations, with a permanent league in the pipeline.
Dates of these demonstrations will be announced beforehand.
