Futsal tournament kicks into action

SSUSS is proud to present a new approach to tournaments by running with a programme called Global Football Futsal League.

The Global Football Futsal League 2021 has just kicked off, and futsal players are showing a massive amount of excitement.

“It’s been a tough year for everyone with the Covid-19 pandemic,” explained Ryan Macfarlane, coach of Benoni’s SuperSport United Soccer School (SSUSS).

“Sadly, one of the hardest-hit areas has been sports, particularly football. As the restrictions begin to ease we feel optimistic and excited about the reintroduction of grassroots football among our youth.”

SSUSS is proud to present a new approach to tournaments by running with a programme called the Global Football Futsal League.

This league includes a series of matches played weekly over the next few months by all the players across the soccer schools.

“There are 12 teams with our very own Kempton Benoni Bears being the ones to watch,” said Macfarlane.

Futsal has always been an integral part of the coaching programme at SSUSS.

“It is believed to be one of the best ways to develop the complete footballer,” added Macfarlane.

“Thousands of children across South Africa come to the SSUSS to improve their football skills.

“They’re still able to attend club soccer with their local club teams in between training days so they don’t lose out on any of the action.”

Macfarlane invites locals to support the Kempton Benoni Bears on the weekends that they play in Benoni.

“Come watch them as they put their skills on display for you at the Benoni Country Club. With good weather and super skills from our SSUSS players, it’s bound to be a great family day out,” he said.

The next home game will take place at the Benoni Country Club on March 27 at noon.
