Finals of bowls competition played

The competition was played on a round robin basis with the section winners in a playoff.

The Lake Bowling Club singles competition for both the women and men has been completed with the winners being Brian Goldsworthy and Sunette van der Walt.

The men’s final was played on March 13 between Brian and Dipak Bhikha.

“It was a very close and exciting game with Brian the eventual winner taking home first place with 21 to 19 shots,” said Alasdair Finlay, Chairperson of Benoni Lake Bowls Club.

The ladies final was played on March 20 between Sunette and Antoinette Egelhoff.

“The standard of bowls was very high with Sunette taking home first place with 21 to 17 shots,” he concluded.
