Nataniël offers an art piece

One thing Nataniël's shows never fail to deliver is a burst of creativity.

Attending one of the evenings of Nataniël’s performance, Rainbow at Midnight, currently being staged at Emperors Palace, I soon found myself marvelling at the designs of the costumes, stage creation and peculiar manner of performance.

If you are looking to escape reality in the world of entertainment, this production offers a good hour and a half of just that.

Following the success of last year’s Factory production, Nataniël considers Rainbow at Midnight the most advanced project of his career.

The production preserves a variety of tales and lessons, told with typical Nataniël-style humour, along with songs performed in accordance, and colour-rich designs, by Floris Louw, adding to the dramatic nature maintained throughout.

Assisting Nataniël in his dream-like production are singers Corlea, Lindiwe Bungane, Nicolaas Swart, acrobat Brad Dreyer and his resident band, consisting of Charl du Plessis (keyboards), Juan Oosthuizen (guitars), Werner Spies (bass), Hugo Radyn (drums) and Tonia Selley (percussion and vocals).

“These performers complete my vision; I would not change a thing; Rainbow at Midnight is technically the most advanced project of my career and I am attempting it with the best artists I know,” he said.

Emperors Palace recently completed a R6-million upgrade of the Theatre of Marcellus, to add to guests’ viewing experience.

Enjoy the style of this performance, which will be staged at Emperors Palace every Wednesday, until Sunday, September 28. TB
