Full programme at beach event

The City of Durban hosted a family beach festival at the Durban Beachfront on Saturday.

AS eThekwini celebrated news that the 2022 Commonwealth Games will be hosted in the City, the Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit kicked-off the festivities with a fun-filled free-entry beach festival to entertain the whole family on Saturday.

The Durban beach promenade was divided into various sections, with each one dedicated to an exciting programme that kept all members of the family enthralled.

Sports fanatics enjoyed activities such as beach volleyball, soccer and aerobics. Art lovers marveled at the sandcastle building activities and art exhibitions along the promenade and children were entertained with “Come and Play” equipment, ball jugglers and clowns.

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and eThekwini Sisters Chorale performed their melodic tunes and there was also live band performances by

various local artists.
