
CRAIG BOTHA, who was shot twice in the stomach during an alleged altercation at Rocca Bar last week, has died.
The 38-year-old man died of his injuries at Albert Luthuli Hospital early Sunday morning.
A bouncer at Rocca Bar was arrested last week in connection with the shooting after handing himself over to the police. He now faces a charge of murder.
The 39-year-old accused will appear in court today. KZN police spokesman, Thulani Zwane said police were still investigating why Botha was shot.

POLICE are searching for the man who is alleged to be behind a shooting at Durban’s Rocca Bar Niteclub at the weekend.
One of the bouncers at the popular nightclub off Umgeni Road is alleged to have shot and wounded a patron after a fight broke out on Saturday night.
The victim, Craig Botha, was hit twice in his abdomen. He was rushed to hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
The police’s Thulani Zwane said the suspect is still at large.
“Durban Central Police opened a case of attempted murder after a 39-year-old man was shot and wounded at the Rocca Bar in the Duban Central area. Police are confident that the arrest will be made soon,” he said. He said the investigating officer was appealing for witnesses to come forward.
In the meantime, a joint statement issued by owner of Rocca Bar, Tyrone Lunday and Craig Botha (friend and patron) has been posted on the Rocco Bar Niteclub facebook profile.
The posts reads: ” On the night of Saturday, 3 August there was an unfortunate incident at Rocca Bar Niteclub. There is an investigation going on and we do not want to comment in detail any further at this stage. What we can say is that we have known each other for a few years and have shared a good relationship with each other. Craig is in hospital and Tyrone (owner Rocca Bar Niteclub) visited with him today. Craig expects to make a full recovery soon and has expressed that he is very sorry about the incident as is Rocca Bar. Neither parties will be pressing charges, and Craig does not wish any ill will towards Rocca Bar. From Tyrone and everyone at Rocca we wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him at Rocca Bar soon.
