Open Air School delighted with generous donation

A donation of Tack Tile sets from SAB MIller to Open Air School thrilled staff and pupils.

THE staff and pupils at the Open Air School in Umbilo were thrilled to receive Tack Tile sets from SAB Miller at a special assembly.

In her address to the assembly, Shobna Persadh, Corporate Affairs Manager for SAB Miller commended the teachers at Open Air School for their dedication, compassion, care, love and for going beyond the call of duty to provide their pupils with a quality education.

She also complimented the pupils at the Open Air School for their fighting spirit, commitment and verve. “We at SAB Miller are inspired by the work that is done at the Open Air School,” Persad said. “When we heard about the TACK-TILE Braille Lego, we had to get it for the Open Air School,” she said. SAB Miller donated five Tack-Tile sets to the Open Air School as part of their outreach programme.

Her message to the staff and pupils was that SAB Miller cared about the community.

Tack-Tile Braille Systems are a sophisticated teaching tool for all ages and are based on Lego type blocks. Using these Braille blocks helps learners with reading and literacy skills.

“We hope that everyone who has the opportunity to use these Tack-Tiles enjoys the experience,” said Persad.
