Eskom Science Expo for Young Scientists

Young scientist, Farah Shaik has done her school proud.

FARAH Shaik, a Grade 7 pupil at Glenwood Preparatory School, recently participated in the Eskom International Science Fair in Boksburg. Farah was among an estimated 800 participants from throughout South Africa, who successfully negotiated the earlier rounds. The expo offered the perfect platform for many school children to address various problems that society faces daily, e.g. global warming, recycling, medical, energy conservation and veterinary issues. The main focus of the Science expo was to encourage participation in science research and the sharing of scientific ideas. Farah thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other budding scientists with the medal presentation focussing on the judges assessments of each research project. Farah was awarded a silver medal for her presentation.
