Pupil wins fees for a year

Ndumiso Mfeka's hopes for the future made him a winner.

NDUMISO Mfeka, a Grade 4 pupil at Greyville School, has won a competition run by Shoprite Checkers.

Every year Shoprite runs an in-store competition where pupils are required to write a motivation on which career path they would like to take. An in-store committee chooses the best motivation and the winner gets their school fees for the year paid for.

At a special assembly at the school on Friday, Hassan Shaik, branch manager of the West Street store, and Rajen Govender, regional manager, presented Ndumiso, the West Street store winner, with a cheque for R1300, which will cover his school fees for the year.
