PUPILS from Greyville Primary School in Berea are taking steps towards a brighter future with the addition of new readers and textbooks to their classrooms.
Previously pupils had had to share the few readers that were available but after the donation of Pearson readers by the RedCap Foundation, every child from Grade one to six has their very own reader. Primary school is where the foundations for learning are laid and these education books are vital to ensuring that every child recieves the proper reading fundamentals.
The principal of the school addressed the pupils at an assembly dedicated to thanking the RedCap Foundation for their book donation.
Principal Shabaan Khan spoke some wise words encouraging them to never stop learning because the world never stops teaching.
The RedCap Foundation works into three main areas all over South Africa – unemployment, education and health. Through structured programmes the foundation aims to develop a young group of citizens that are inspired, healthy and engaged.
Through its programmes, it hopes to develop and create an empowered generation that is healthy, engaged and are able to be the authors of their own future.
