Clifton wins third round of schools quiz
Clifton School won the third round of the BDO Schools' Quiz for Central Durban.
CLIFTON School took the top spot in the third round of this year’s BDO Schools Quiz for central Durban schools held at Glenwood High School on 6 May.
Their winning team of four Grade 10/11 learners notched up 73 points ahead of second-placed Durban High School’s Grade 10/11 team with 72 points.
They triumphed over 22 teams from Eden College, St Mary’s DSG, Durban Girls’; High, Durban High School, St Henry’s Marist Bros, Clifton College and Glenwood High School.
This is the fifth year running that teams of four Grade 10 and 11 learners from schools in greater Durban and Pietermaritzburg are taking part in the competition which tests the general knowledge skills of the participants.
The top two teams from each of four regional rounds go on to compete in the championships where the winners select a disadvantaged school for a donation of R10 000 worth of books from BDO and Books and Books. Each member of the winning team also takes home an Apple iPod shuffle from BDO.
