MARIS Stella took the top spot in the fourth and final regional round of the 2014 BDO Schools Quiz for northern Durban schools on 8 May.
The team of four Grade 10 and 11 girls from Maris Stella finished with 69 points while the team of Grade 10 Crawford boys, which came second in the round, earned 66 points.
The BDO Schools Quiz, now in its fifth year, gives teams of four Grade 10 and 11 learners from schools in greater Durban and Pietermaritzburg the chance to pit their general knowledge skills against one another.
The champions win R10 000 worth of books to donate to an underprivileged school of their choice as well prizes for themselves from Books and Books and BDO.
